Yesterday we went to Toronto to have a picnic on the patio at the Princess Margaret Hospital to visit Mom/Oma. It was fabulous to see her and to have the little ones around. The doctors say she is on target with her treatment and so far they have been able to manage most of the negative side effects. It looks like mom with have a new hairdo soon but otherwise is feeling pretty good. Love you mom! Keep kicking butt!

A bump in the road.

It has been a crazy couple of weeks. On March 30th, my mom was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Today, just 2.5 weeks later she is well into treatment and settling in for a 4-6 week stay at Princess Margaret Hospital. It all started with her donating blood which resulted in abnormal results. After some time her doctor decided that he would order a complete blood screening to see if anything turned up. Still without symptoms it was hard to believe that anything was wrong. Still the testing resulted in the above. Mom is doing well and has a great attitude. The support of family and friends has been tremendous. Thank you. keep fighting mom. We are right by your side every step of the way.
