We are on our way north to hang with our army buddies tomorrow, Eric and Bill. It is always a good time whether we arrrrr just hanging out or arrrrrr talking like pirates. While we were camping last week we can a pretty cool day on the beach. A training exercise was taking place and the Canadian Forces dropped jumper after jumper into Lake Ontario. You can see the jumpers in the background and Matt and Quinn playing in the water in the lower left corner.
Dan and I were married 4 years ago today. It was an amazing day. We had such a good time and have so many perfect memories.
We were surrounded by so many friends and family. Looking at pictures only confirms what a wonderful day it was. It is amazing to think of all that has happened in the last 4 years not only in our lives but in the lives of those closest to us. We have attended many weddings and house warming celebrations, lived vicariously through travel blogs, and have welcomed so many new members to our respective families. We love you guys. Thank you for being there for us and look forward to many more adventures to come!
As for Dan, I love him even more today as we have continue our lives together. You are an amazing husband and father! xo
Just over a week ago we had our first camping trip with Logan. We went to Sandbanks Provincial Park and enjoyed the beautiful sandy beaches. We were joined by my parents and both of my brothers and their families. Growing up we went their as a family and it was fun to bring our families back as we create new memories! One of our favorite pastimes was creating things out of sand. Poor Oscar seems oblivious to his impending fate and Simon seems a lot more excited about his beer than I would be. It was a fabulous week catching up with everyone and we are looking forward to going back next summer.
Logan and I found a few minutes during our busy vacation in Thunder Bay to sit back on the couch!
We went to Thunder Bay for a wedding and had the amazing opportunity to meet/reconnect with the Hemsworth Family. They are a very fun, special group of people. We were warmly welcomed and had a fun week of bbq's, dancing, games, and hiking. Chloe (Dan's sister) Dan, Logan, and Mike (Dan's brother) are looking refreshed after a "short" hike to see the Sleeping Giant!
We have just returned from a fabulous week in Thunder Bay. We got to visit and meet friends and family. Just one of the many special moments was introducing Logan to his Great grandparents. Nana and Papa were thrilled to meet Logan. It was so nice having an chance for all of us to get together and having a baby around made things a little easier. We spent many hours during the week cleaning out Nana and Papa's home for the past 56 years as they move into a beautiful new home that will provide them with a little more support. It was difficult going through all of their possessions and deciding what will become of them. While some pieces found new homes within the family, many are being sold right now in a garage sale and many more found there way into the bin. I am honored to welcome some treasures from their home into our home. We were sad to say goodbye to Holm Hall. It was the place of many Holm gatherings, was considered home to Dan for some time, and has welcomed all of us whenever we have requested. We wish Marg and Carl all of the best as they move next week into Isabella Place.
