Battle for Royalty

It was a warm summer afternoon when the epic battle took place. Logan and Quinn faced off to decide who is the ruling King/Queen. They are evenly matched in weight but Quinn has a little extra reach but the young Logan makes up for it in tenacity.

Bath time buddies!

This past weekend Dan had a ultimate (frisbee) tournament in Boston. To avoid single parenting at home by myself, my friend Meg invited me to go to Peterborough with her to her parent's place. Her family adopted me as part of the clan a number of years ago and I was excited to spend the weekend with them. It was a fun weekend seeing all of them. It is fun having another family!

Logan and Clara (Meg's daughter) are buddies and we took some obligatory naked pictures so that we can embarrass them later in life!

And June is gone...

Somewhere around early to mid-June I thought "I am going to post almost every day this month." We have lots of pictures to share and we have been on lots of adventures.... and then somehow all of that was forgotten. The month is drawing to a close and I have not posted much at all. Maybe July will be the month that I post more... but I wouldn't bet on it!

We went to my parents once again this month. We had Logan baptized at my parents church surrounded by family and friends. The day was beautiful and Logan looked like a little angel. Thank you to everyone who made the day extra special. We are blessed to have wonderful family and friends.

Here are a couple of pictures of Logan all baptized. He was perfect throughout (most likely because of the swimming lessons!) and won the hearts of the congregation. When Father lifted him high to show him off and then asked "does anyone want a baby?" I felt a little scared that someone would take him up on the offer... which would just make for an awkward scene at the church as you can imagine. In the end, no awkward moments just great times.

Getting the Monkey off my back!

While I might not be the newest mom on our soccer team I do feel like pregnancy has taken a lot out of me. When I am out on the field I know what I should be doing and I am telling my legs to do it but it all happens in slow motion - and therefore doesn't happen. I just don't get to where I think I will in the time I plan to get there... (Read: Jody is very slow). I used to score goals, occasionally feel fast, and all in all be a decent soccer player for the rec league we play in. Today a little bit of that came back and it felt great!!!!! I scored not one but two goals - and if I have to say so myself they were fairly pretty. I felt like I could outrun their defence - and I could occasionally. And all in all based on the comments from the team I looked like a decent soccer player again! And it felt great!

Swimming with Oma!

Last week Oma came to take me to swimming lessons. Then this crazy guy ate my foot. Ouch. LB

Swimming lessons have been a lot of fun with Logan and he is definitely becoming more comfortable in the water. Dan and I have enjoyed getting in the pool with him each week. I am sad to see them end next week. I think that Logan and I are going to sign up for another round of lessons in the fall.

Swingin'

I am kinda like my dad and don't get too excited for much... but I think I like hanging in this thing. LB

6 Months Old

Logan celebrated his half-birthday last week. This milestone brings with it lots of new experiences and some that are not so new. He once again took his shots like a champ. He continues to grow and now weighs in at 18.55 lbs (75%ile) and is 26.5 inches long (50%ile). We also finally started him on food. He was starting to look quite forlorn as we would put spoonfuls of delicious food in our months and not his. Finally his time came and with his first try he was not so sure why we liked it so much. However, as the week has continued he has definitely gotten the hang of it and doesn't leave anything left in the bowl at the end of the meal.
