Oma's visit

Oma took some time while Boppa was in India (http://have2011.wordpress.com/) to come for her first visit.... Oma and Boppa (also known as Jody's Mom and Dad) came down just after Logan was born but we hadn't made it out of the hospital yet, and then they stopped in for lunch when Nannie (Dan's Mom) was here. So it is not like they haven't seen Logan but they hadn't had an opportunity to really hang out. Mom arrived just in time to celebrate her birthday and enjoy Logan's first smiles!

Cousin Jen comes for a visit

We quite like visitor's and last week we had Cousin Jen come and visit from Calgary. We had lots of adventures around town which were fun, but what we enjoyed most were cuddles and hanging out (Logan even hung out on the couch with the big kids!)

I think that Jen and cousin Carter are going to be a bad influence on Logan. Already they were teaching him gang signs with his hands!

Thanks for coming Jen. We look forward to seeing you again soon.

gdiapers

It didn't take too many boxes of diapers and garbage bags full of dirty diapers for us to realize that we would like to try something different. We had always thought that we would try cloth but over the last week or so we are trying to put it into practice.

Our diaper of choice is currently the gdiaper. Logan was sporting them today and all in all I would say it was a success. Not only do they look good - I do have a cute model:) but we managed to get through the day without blowouts and excessive wardrobe changes. Which is quite good because
even though I have a cute model he doesn't particularly enjoy wardrobe changes.

Things seem to change daily but for now it is working. Tomorrow is another day...

1/1/11

Happy New Year everyone! We hope that you have a wonderful 2011. It is going to be a very different year for us. That is for sure. Today is my due date... the date that we were counting down to for 8 months! I can't imagine still being pregnant or having to deliver a baby closer to 10 lbs than the much smaller 7 lbs that Logan was 4 weeks ago. Logan is growing very fast and we are learning equally quickly. We are working at settling into a routine at home now after a busy holiday season.

We had a wonderful Christmas up at Mom and Dad Reid's place. It was busy as there were two newborn babies and two toddler
s. Much fun (and very little sleep) was had by all. The babies, Quinn and Logan, slept often and many hours were spent with one or two snoozing on my lap. Lisa and I dubbed it the year of the boob as when they weren't sleeping they were most likely feeding. Avery and Oscar provided a little more entertainment with their antics. Whether they were playing piano, pushing around Avery's new shopping cart, or helping Oma with the dishes... they provided constant amusement. Simon and Matt also provided additional excitement as the brothers put their competitive spirit to parenting. This was most apparent when they had a diaper changing competition! Legs, wipes, and diapers were flying everywhere. The winner is still debatable as the quality of the quickest change job was questioned. I am looking forward to seeing the cousins grow up together.

I hope that you had a wonderful holiday and all the best for 2011!
